The Columbia Fireflies is a minor-league baseball team based in Columbia South Carolina. In the development of this identity our focus was on connecting to the community and most Southerners with a nostalgia of summer nights and fireflies. It was important that the visual brand be relevant and fun. It had to work across many design communication platforms such as team uniforms, stadium branding and fan merchandise. The new team was a big hit and in their first year the organization saw big sales in fan merchandise. It didn’t hurt the team was honored with the 2016 Best New Logo and Branding Award by Ballpark Digest. This is a Sky Design - Atlanta project.
